Director However one feels about how America is conducting its "War on Terrorism," the basic truth remains that the fight to keep American freedom alive is to be fought at home. And what that fight is about is not only confronting our government when it acts inconsistently with our basic freedom, like the war on Marijuana for instance, but keeping the awareness of freedom alive in the American mind set as well. There is a concept America, an archetype political system which is our constant goal. The idea being that we are constantly attempting to achieve a system which is consistent with the ideals espoused in our Declaration of Independence. We are created equal, each of us "endowed by (our) Creator with certain inalienable Rights, among these Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." We are born free. That is our natural state. We join together as a society in order to optimize our natural condition of freedom - to protect it - to establish a governmental system which optimize our ability to choose - to make the choices in our lives -to establish a system that operates as fairly as we are able. The more people who are presented the concept, the better our chances for its survival. Although the subject matter is "serious," except for a couple of articles, everything is presented via a cartoon format. Freedom is fun. "Life, liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" is meant to be exhilarating stuff. When you open up to our home page you will see a giant joint (marijuana cigarette, reefer, etc.) being chased by a bunch of policemen. That is the cover of Cops 'n Dopers, "a People's Guide to the 4th Amendment, or how to Avoid a Bust" (English and Spanish). The 4th Amendment is the section of the Bill of Rights which directly limits government's legal authority to intrude on our right to privacy, our right to be left alone. Important material. Not just for Dopers. Other than Cops n' Dopers, everything on the site may be viewed for free. We have a E-book in its entirety (also available for sale) entitled "The Money Rebellion," a 45 page satire in cartoon format about money and taxes. Our "money" used to represent a real value, i.e., gold or silver. Now it represents nothing. Does that matter? Does this skew the playing field? Does borrowing our "money" into circulation make sense? In the book, an outlaw computer exchange system takes on the Feds. Basic Rights USA, "Who Are We" is a five page cartoon strip style piece defining who we are as individual Americans, as defined by the Declaration of Independence. If you absorb nothing else from the site, this is the one I hope you study. Because it sets the base beat. (We are working on our Spanish language version). We have two T-shirt sections, all cartoons. Eddy in America and Bad Taste T-shirts. They are all available for viewing and for sale. Eddy in America addresses freedom; money; preconceptions and t.v.; and other timely subjects. Other than "I Heard it on The News It Must be True," Bad Taste T-Shirts consists entirely of off beat cartoons. Finally, there are two articles: "It's About Freedom," having to do with freedom of choice, and "Marijuana Laws Unconstitutional," which speaks about the obvious inequities in the marijuana laws from a legal standpoint and how incredibly inconsistent they are with our ideal of individual freedom. Waiving the flag is not
the same thing as understanding the freedom the flag represents.
Wide spread awareness of the fundamentals of freedom is necessary
for the ideal to survive. Every generation must connect anew. |
